Feature Requests

I am looking to remove just specific scenes that I added to a layout pack. I currently shoot a side by side, 1-camera view, and in order to simulate a 2-camera shoot, I zoom in on each subject, and save that scene to a layout. So every time I edit a video (every week), I start by getting those 2 closeups, and when combined with the "camera view", it appears like 3 cameras are involved. My issue is, I am adding 2 new scenes to my layout pack every week. I would like to be able to delete those individual scenes (only the ones I added) so that I don't have to keep adding and subsequently scrolling to find my scenes.

When editing screen recordings, it is critical to enlarge some areas of the screen to ensure the text is readable. A zoom box displays a portion of the viewport at a scale. A zoom box can be rectangular or circular with a border and shadow to visually separate it from the video in the background. Without this feature the team would not switch from Screencast O Matic.

I could save quite some time if I could chose custom templates for captions. So I would not have to set the layout for the captions. I produce about 10 Movies a week and all of them have the same captions settings.

The newest update removed the ability to overwrite or update saved layouts. Now you can only save new layouts. I use Descript to edit podcasts, and rely on the ability to overwrite existing layouts as small changes are needed based on the framing of guests which changes every episode. It would be incredibly inconvenient and wasteful to create brand new layouts and delete outdated versions each time I edit a new episode, but that is my only option with the new update.

This would save us SO MUCH TIME using the editor for things like: ✅ text/title presets (all text have a drop shadow, thin black border, be a certain size, have a certain fade in & out animation, etc) ✅ stock presets (all GIFs and images to have a drop shadow & be placed into the top right corner/quadrant of the 16:9 video ratio, vs b-roll stock footage fill up the whole screen & have no drop shadow) ✅ live caption presets ✅ standard zoom in & back out presets when emphasizing a point in the video vs setting it up every time & adding a crossfade on both start/end to transition it better, etc ✅ timeline presets for zoom levels (let us set how zoomed in we want to be for the duration of our editing, until we change it ourselves)

Instead of manually saving each new layout to a new layout pack it would be nice to be able to save all the scenes that are different from one another to a new layout pack.

AMC currently assigns speakers to specific layout slots based on the order that they are assigned in the camera setup dropdown submenu. As far as I can tell, this order is determined for multicam sequences by the upload order of the individual tracks. It should be possible to rearrange the speaker order directly within the camera setup submenu to make it easier to maintain consistency of speaker locations within the layouts from episode to episode.

It's very frustrating to not be able to record in one place and inputting slides as images is time-consuming and frusterating.

I love the new smart transitions, for transitioning between 1-up and 2-up layouts. But I do not like the smart transition (a fade) between 1-up speakers. So I go through my whole project to manually add smart transitions in and out to every 2-up scene, but I leave hard cuts between 1-up scenes. I'd love a way to tell Descript to add smart in&out transitions to EVERY scene in my project that uses the 2-up layout.
