I'm using Descript to make CC captions for films, and also creating SDH captions for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. I add in things between the dialogue like "[Sound of rushing water]" or "[laughter]", so it's important to have an easy way to edit those in. Please keep working on the sound waves between dialogue to remove glitches so this process keeps getting easier!

When I click to add chapters it gives me the option to Add to script, but before I do that I think, oh let me add the timestamps, that'll be helpful. Although once I do that, I lose the option to Add it to the script, at which point I can't undo and have to go back in and make ANOTHER new call to Underlord to run the chapters again, wasting a call!

Popup windows too small and not resizable. This is particularly a problem with the Identify Speaker window with a Zoom presentation having multiple participants recorded in the Gallery mode. Sometimes you just have to see who is speaking to make the identity. This applies to the Search and Change windows too - they are too small on my 24-inch 1920x1080 monitor.

I'm working with videos that already have baked-in animated captions created in other editing platforms like DaVinci Resolve. When using Descript to add additional captions or selectively remove parts of the transcript, I often need certain portions to simply be blank — no text displayed at all — to avoid overlapping or repeating what’s already burned into the video. However, when I delete or ignore these portions in Descript, the app keeps displaying the previous caption, instead of clearing it and showing nothing. This results in duplicated or incorrect text on screen. It would be incredibly helpful to have a feature that allows me to: Replace a portion of the transcript/captions with intentional empty gaps (no carry-over from the previous line) Ensure the screen shows no text at all during those sections Possibly insert a “blank caption” block manually when needed This would make Descript much more compatible with workflows involving pre-animated or stylized captions, and would solve a major pain point when combining different platforms for captioning and storytelling. Toggle views to hide ignored text in script and show ignored text in script please. It makes it easier to edit the sentence structure and capitalization.

A shortcut to delete all ignored text to make the transcript clean for editing

You can zoom in and out on the Timeline using keyboard shortcuts, which might help with your editing: Zoom in: macOS: Command + Scroll down or Command + = Windows: Control + Scroll down or Control + = Zoom out: macOS: Command + Scroll up or Command + - Windows: Control + Scroll up or Control + - If these shortcuts aren't working as expected, it might be a bug. You can also try adjusting the height of the Timeline by hovering your mouse over the horizontal bar that separates the Timeline and the Script editor, then clicking and dragging to resize. Could you remove "mm-hmm" from the list of repeated words? It should not be included.
