It would be really helpful to have a color coding option for files, sequences, and compositions. I'd love to be able to mark something green for ready, yellow for in-process, blue for lined-up/next, and red for no/done/nothing. Doesn't have to be a full highlighted color, a circle next to the file name that I control would be awesome. Thanks!

Great news — an engineer picked this up during the Descript Telethon 2026! It's now in development. Stay tuned for updates.

Our podcast team prepares 5-10 individual stories in Descript for our show each week. We'd love the ability to add a colored "tag" beside each project to signal to our engineer/editors when a project is ready for an edit, ready for fact-check, or ready for our engineer to do a final mix.
We love the way Mac OS enables the color-coding of files and folders, and could envision something similar being available in the drop down menu when you right-click a project. (as pictured)
