I recently shared my Descript Video Editing Certificate on LinkedIn, and it made me wonder if Descript has considered supporting certificate sharing on freelance platforms like Upwork. Being able to display verified Descript credentials there would help freelancers showcase their skills directly where clients make hiring decisions.

A real game changer to descript would be allowing for XML imports that references the source media. Not only would this significantly speed up workflow, it would also make descript indispensable in many creative professionals pipelines. Another application called Plotline already has this and they take it a step further by using AI to identify moments of high impact of comedic relief. Using this, their ai then arranges the story. It is primarily focused on weddings but this can be applied to many different levels of productions. Please add XML support. Current workaround is to cut up the media and re-export everything (essentially baking in the edit and losing RAW/high fidelity flexibility of the files) into descript then either use those media files if exported at a high enough quality or manually replace them with the originals.

I'm currently exporting Figma Slides as PDF and importing them into Descript and animating the pictures. It leaves so much potential on the table. It would be awesome if you could import them where each of the elements where separate parts so it could be animated separately. It would be nice to have some simple options like "show all at once" or "show sequentially in this order" but then allow customization afterwards.

Would be really useful to be able to toggle the ability for each section of script to display the file name that text is drawn from. Perhaps alongside the speaker name. We use descript for multi voice/ archive projects often, and when reporting we need to be able to quickly see the file name for each bit of audio/ script. At the moment the way to do this is to: right click -> view media. And there you see the highlighted file name in the list of all files. A setting/ toggle to have it visible instantly on all ocurrances in the script would be really useful! Thank you, Maxim

app integration

I would like to integrate my back-end workflow in make.com with Descript (Load video, Transcript, Export Transcript and Scenes)

If I export to Captivate, the chapters don't transfer over UNLESS I refresh the page before exporting. Then they transfer over perfectly. Odd behavior.

Three times now I got a copyright block by youtube because the short i posted (created in descript using stock audio) is > 60 seconds. I went to try your youtube integration however it apparently does not work for shorts. So it seems I am stuck with getting the block, and the tedious process of having youtube replace the music with something from it's library.
