Feature Requests

As if I wanted to save my 1-year “progress” and start a new database, which can only change “drive” when I need to go back to a previous file, instead of uploading again and working again.

It would absolutely make my life if Descript had a way to quickly edit photos. Especially with features that can already be performed on videos (like green screen). It's so tiring having to use other programs that 1. cost an arm and a leg, and 2. are time consuming having to bounce around edited pictures because these programs don't offer the same ways to edit pictures.

Love the new teleprompter feature, so I can enter what I've written directly (as an environmentalist, I HATE using AI when it's not needed because of the monstrous electricity consumption!), why not let what is captured include punctuation as well? As a published author, Descript's punctuation is truly wretched, so why not let the person who knows how it should be done, enter it themselves? AI's great, but within limits.

When I use GIFs from the Stock Media Library, they automatically loop by default. In most of my edits, I only want the GIF to play once — not on a loop. It would be helpful if the default setting could be changed to play once, or at least let users choose their preferred default behavior. Could you please consider adding this as an option? Thanks a lot!

I really like the “Drop a file” feature in Descript — it automatically edits the video by removing filler words, adding visuals, and even inserting B-roll. It saves a lot of time! It would be great if this functionality could be made available through an API. That way, we could automate video editing workflows using external tools like Make.com , Zapier, or our own custom apps. Are there any plans to support this? Thanks for considering it!

Add the ability to change the font size of the active word. Maybe even add wiggle and shake animation options for the active word as well.

split screen sucks, I need to be able to turn off text screen all together

It would be great to upload a video with narration and replace it with an AI voice while keeping the narration in sync with video. Specifically if we can pair this with translating the video into different languages.

I would love to have the ability to customize shortcuts and adapt them to my workflow. have any command accessible through keyboard shortcuts and trigger them via stream deck.
