For the first time I decided to use Descript for my Screen recording plus desktop audio recording, first problem is while you can choose a microphone source, you can't choose channels, so using an audio interface that has 18 channels, I can't just choose the one with my microphone, it defaults to the main outputs which means I need to record audio separately, which is fine but just not efficient. I was pretty happy about being able to adjust my camera position and move it independently other than using OBS or something so that's fine. Aligning the audio from my separate recording was a bit clunky but managed to get it lined up OK. However, you can't group the new audio with the existing scene, and when I try to slice the beginning of the video off, to keep the start, it completely mucks up the timing of the new audio, not ideal. The next problem comes when I try to film another section, so I filmed the first part yesterday, and wanted to continue today, so I press record, get everything set up, and again instead of adding to the end of the scene (which I couldn't crop nicely with the new audio either), it just stacks it on top, and is a complete mess in the timeline. When I moved the new footage over, it just cropped the end of it off for some reason? It's incredibly frustrating to use and I really don't know if this tool is saving me any time against using Davinci Resolve as simple things are almost impossible!
