All that said, also need the quality/reliability of recording in descript to improve - I have tons of dropped frames and skipped time that doesn't happen in other apps with my scripts.
While we're at it, adding voice-controlled script reading support?

The current process is unintuitive if we're recording from a script.
Currently, I paste the script I need to read into the Descript page so I can read it while recording into Descript. Then I redundantly Copy and Paste the same script into the Import Script feature. I then have 2 redundant copies of the same script in the document.
Ideally, along with the "Record into script" option, there’d be a "Record THIS script" option when you detect Writing on the page that does not have any matching audio. Once I’m done recording, you treat that text on the page as the text you currently use for the Import Script feature. Bonus points if you highlight places where I’ve deviated from the script.

This might be a good fit too

Actually the Descript ai would probably learn other languages than English so much faster when we provide the correct transcript to it

I, too, would LOVE to have this feature. If I could automate the editing process by getting Descript to do its best to relate the audio to the script, mark any additions that I ad-libbed (always brief), and retain the last instance of any given repeated phrase, I'd happily pay double for the service. This has the added benefit of a "perfect" transcription that doesn't need editing: all capitalization, spelling, punctuation, and paragraphing would be found in the final transcript.

Adding to everything that's been said : the auto transcript feature in French is not /that/ good, so uploading the script could help make it like 95% accurate, which would help a lot, mostly for 2 reasons :
- Easier to scan the text when there are proper sentences with the actual words, so way quicker to edit.
- Easier to implement a feature where it would automatically highlight when the same text is repeated twice, indicating a retake.

This is my #1 feature request as well.
Descript is so close to being the ultimate scripted recoding tool! With its ability to transcribe text it can detect re-takes of sections, or extraneous speech.
With a single click you could auto-edit a whole recording, removing early mistakes and keeping only the last, best take. And if there are still any errors, or misspoken words, you could have Overdub correct those to match the script.
