Realign words improvements
Aparajita Fishman
Currently, the only way to realign words (which for me is quite often necessary), is to:
- Select the range tool.
- Select the range in the timeline or select the words in the transcript.
- Right click on the range in the timeline.
- Select "Realign words" from the context menu.
Ouch. It's a usability nightmare. What's worse, the realignment can take up to 15 seconds to finish, and there is no progress indicator to tell us whether or not Descript is still working on it or has just given up.
Some suggestions for better usability:
- Don't require the Range tool to be selected.
- Add "Realign words" to the edit bar ... menu.
- Add "Realign words" to the Quick Actions.
- Add a progress indicator while realignment is in progress.

add "Realign Words in Range" to the upper dropdown menu
Daniel Martinez Stahl
Hi there,
I would be great if you could add the "Realign Words in Range" to the upper menu bar. A good place would be just below "Restore Removed Media"
Thanks as always for your help and consideration.
Lots of Love, Daniel 🙂❤

Make it easier to "realign words in range"
Daniel Martinez Stahl
Can you please add an option to the right-click dropdown menu in the main script when a section is highlighted to "realign words in range?"
I am aware that in order to realign words in range, I use the "range" tool in the timeline and then right click over that selection to reveal the option to realign words in range.
It would be a lot easier and faster if that option was made available in the main script section of the interface. It's quick and easy to select the words or range in question with the mouse in the script. Once selected, the option to "realign words in range" could be added to the right-click dropdown menu, or even under the "more options" in the menu bar that appears above the selection.
Thanks as always for your consideration.
Lots of Love, Daniel 🙂❤
