I absolutely hate the new recording panel. I just recoreded a 30 minute tutorial and because you have to individually turn on the mic, camera and screen, my mic was muted. Why would you make this panel so small at the bottom, hard to pause while recording and have everything turned off by default. PUT THE RECORD PANEL BACK! I'M furious by this update. You're supposed to be making things easier, not harder!

Agree 100 percent. In my case, all I want is to record quality system audio straight into a composition, I don't even need the screen. But that's not an option. I HAVE to record video. And the kicker? The audio quality is awful. Recording good quality system audio directly into a composition was a game changer for our audio only shop. Now it's not even possible for us to utilize this recorder. The updates have rendered it unusable for us.

Emily Jankowski Terrible!!! And now they changed it again in just 2 weeks. I'm so angry honestly I want to cancel my membership right now. They just updated it again and I'm like HELLOOO WE'RE WORKING OVER HERE!!!
The recorder is glitchy and makes me look like an AI avatar. So upset

Arbel Kimmick I just took a look at the latest changes and actually like the newest update's integration into the main window/ compositions (sort of similar to how it used to be), but the audio quality (specifically capturing computer's system audio) is still unacceptable for our needs. Plus it's mono and I'm forced to record the screen. I have had to direct my team members to use other software for recording. Worked beautifully for us once upon a time. We need more advanced recording options (WAV, option to record in stereo, unprocessed.)
TBH I think you should check out Riverside for your video recording needs, we use Riverside for all of our remotely recorded interviews, and when we do video (which is somewhat rare for us) the video quality is great. Last I checked you can export your riverside recordings straight to Descript. But I think you can edit in Riverside too. I haven't dabbled into that side of it though.
