Any time I need to change an audio clip on the timeline, there are massive delays in the UI which results in inaccurate placement of the clip. I have similar issues when trying to edit the volume of an audio clip in the sidebar.
It appears that this is due to the fact that Descript tries to re-render waveforms realtime as they're moving or the audio levels are changing. To me, it would be so much more usable if the user just got to see a single line where the clip is being moved to, rather than the waveform, which is unnecessary until after I let go of the clip.
As it stands, I end up spending far more time waiting for the waveforms to render and several more tries getting the beginning of the clip into the correct position.
I feel like this sort of usability enhancements should be prioritized over new features. I love Descript and probably couldn't do my podcast without it. But sadly, too often, things like this feel neglected which could do a ton to improve user experience.
