Export separate tracks by speaker from single file
Tim Scarfe
Assuming I took in one audio file with mixed speakers and I ran the speaker detection and transcription -- I would then like to be able to export separate audio files for each speaker, this means in Premiere I can apply different levelling.

Note that I now use zencaster to record separate audio channels for guests on my podcast, so I am good

I would LOVE this feature and would use it alot!

Ridiculous this is not a feature yet. App identifies separate voices, colour codes them but can't export as separate tracks.
Even bringing natively into reaper which is an export feature it doesn't split the files which are edited and split in Descript, it just outputs one long stereo track.
Please can you add this feature

Also this would allow stereo panning of the speakers to position them within a sound field.

Any word on this feature request? This seems pretty straightforward and would be exceptionally useful for separating speakers into channels and even spatial mixing.

Wow this feature was requested 2 years ago and still nothing? I just met with support and there is still no way of getting this done. Please please add this feature Descript.

awesome suggestion! along the same line how about allowing us to assign the "speakers" to desired channels right from within the export settings.

This seems like hygiene — super basic feature, I would say and would make proper mixdowns in other DAWs that much easier, for example creating stereo separation and so forth. Please consider this!

I need this too! I am a freelance podcast editor and most of the time, clients send me one audio track only

Absolutely, please. I have to manually mute all other speaker tracks and export just the single speaker that I want (and repeat the process for every single speaker) every time I export audio from Descript into other programs for further mastering. This is a very basic feature of most other audio editors, and it would help a lot to have it in Descript.

We start with two or three different tracks, then make a composition. After editing (which could be done track-by-track), I again want to export the edited tracks and maintain timeline integrity. Seems like it ought not be that hard. You can view the original tracks separately.
