We use Creator for educational videos often over 1 hr length, and splitting them to publish and use studio sound is a major pain. Volunteer organization, so budget is very tight.

We passed two years since this great request was originally made and since making this change doesn't involve any changes to the Descript product itself, I have to think this will never happen, but Trevor in customer service says they notice feedback here, so please share the link to this page with anyone you think would be willing to upvote and leave a comment in support of it and let's see if we can get the upvotes to 100 by the end of August 2022!

I agree. The Creator plan goes from $12 to $5/month for educators, a similar percent off would make the Pro plan go from $24 to $10/month. I'd sign up! I'd be more inclined to share Descript at conferences and with the technology in education group I lead at my school. Hope we see it soon! Looks like we're coming up on the two-year anniversary of the request, though...

This would create amazing opportunities for my college students (who, by the way, could likely go on to become users of Descript after they graduate and are more established in the world).
