Keep a display notification that a video is actively publishing to YouTube on screen so we know that software is working. Half the time I'm waiting and the system fails to generate the video export. A frustrating waste of time.

It is super disconcerting, unsettling, and undermining in platform trust that this has been open since 2021 with no action on it. Does not seem like a difficult technical problem to at least come up with a basic solution for.

UPDATE: looks like there is momentum as of May just on a different ticket - https://descript.canny.io/telethon/p/display-youtube-export-upload-progress

YouTube Upload Status

It's a disconcerting feeling when you finally finish a massive video project, select upload to YouTube and you get a single one-time notification that it is being uploaded then disappears. It's easy to think you did something wrong or that you didn't follow through officially when you have no idea of the status of it rendering and being sent. There's a hour or two of radio silence from the descript side and YouTube side where you have no idea if you're video is actually being uploaded or you're just wasting valuable time. If there was some way at least on Descripts side to keep showing the status of it being sent to YoutTube that would be MOST appreciated.

This would really be helpful. I _think_ the reason YouTube sometimes takes a very long time to publish is because it (seems to) first depend on the normal Web Link to publish, and you can track the progress of _that_ by clicking the link from its Publish pane.
Of course, in my case, publishing keeps getting stuck at 7%, so that's a separate issue.

Currently clicking "Publish" to YouTube seems like it does nothing... until a few seconds later when a balloon pops up to say that publishing is in progress. By that time I've already clicked the button a couple of times, thinking it didn't work, and I wind up with duplicate videos on YouTube

I agree. As a newbie user, but longtime media app user, this app does feel very unfinished. Please check out Camtasia for what a finished app looks like. They do a good job with this feature.
