Currently, creating a scrolling lyric video (like a teleprompter or a movie credits roll) where the entire song text continuously moves from the bottom to the top of the screen in sync with the audio is very difficult. The existing teleprompter tool is only meant for recording, and standard captions only show one or two lines at a time.

The Proposed Feature:

I would love to see a "Scrolling Lyrics / Karaoke Machine" template or tool.

The workflow would look like this:

1 Upload & Transcribe: The user uploads an audio track, and Descript automatically generates the transcript (lyrics).

2 Text Correction: The user can easily correct any typos in the generated script or paste an official .doc/.txt lyric file to match the audio.

3 Continuous Scrolling Effect: A built-in video layout option that displays the entire text on screen, constantly rolling/scrolling from bottom to top.

4 Visual Sync: The words or lines currently being sung should be highlighted or change color in real-time, just like on Spotify or a karaoke screen, while the rest of the text keeps moving smoothly.

This feature would save hours of manual keyframing in other video editors and would make Descript the absolute best tool on the market for creating lyric videos and karaoke tracks.
