Does anyone have a workaround for blurring out parts of the screen atm? Right now, my workflow is to download my Descript vidoes and then upload them into Canva to then create the blur feature. I also need to try Capcut and check out their blur features too. I do a lot of teaching on my videos where I have to log into various accounts and I don't want people to see my email address or API keys, etc. Anyone found an "OK" workaround besides what I am already doing?

Is this feature really that hard to create? I don't see the purpose of blurring out the entire screen, which is currently the only only type of blur that Descript has.
I really like Descript and I've been using it for several years now and this is the one feature I've been waiting for.
I'm not trying to have a negative tone here, but is it really that hard to create this feature, seems like it would be a simple add just like any of the basic shapes you can already add.
Please add this feature in

Come on guys, why is it not possible to blur a portion of the screen? I want to do screen recordings and sometimes I want to blur sensitive portions of the screen I'm sharing. Now I have to create my videos in Descript and then export to Adobe to apply a simple blur! But then the whole point of Descript disappears! I have now my video someplace else, and I can't use Descript any more to continue editing, publishing, etc.!
BLUR PORTION OF THE SCREEN IS REQUIRED WHEN MAKING SCREEN RECORDINGS!!
Please implement it otherwise it's USELESS for making screen recordings!

Yusuf I completely agree with you. Been waiting for this to be added for years now.

I interview people for a research company. Occasionally I need to blur their faces so people can watch the video of them speaking, but not see their faces. Is there an 'automatically identify a face and blur it' option?

Add in selective screen blurring

I do lots of software screenshare videos and I oftentimes need to blur out sensitive info. Currently I edit the videos in Descript and then I have to export it to Premiere to apply the blur boxes on the video. It makes the process take a lot longer. It would be so much easier to apply blur boxes on parts of my video directly in Descript.
I'll attach a screenshot of the type of selective blurring boxes I need to apply to videos.

I know you are not zoom and provide a completely different service. But where you are EXACTLY the same is that people are recording themselves with their homes in the background. Many if not most people blur the background or use some other image to obscure their homes. The point is they don't want to broadcast the interior of their homes in a business environment. You need the blur feature for the same reason. I, and many others, I'm sure, are having to go to extraordinary efforts to hide our backgrounds at home because it looks unprofessional. In other words, your service is to make business videos more professional (and you mostly do a great job of that!) but this lack of one feature that is standard in similar apps makes customers look less professional. Thank you. Ian
