For breaths, I would like the ability to choose to quickly remove OR reduce the volume either by X dB or reduce to a target dB.

Studio Sound SHOULD do that, but even nicer would be if they FIXED the 100% bug. Try to set ANY amount of Studio Sound filter filter below 100% (to work around the choppiness) – it causes a massive echo on the whole file – UNUSABLE!
Descript knows this since many weeks but … they can't seem to fix it.
This was the one feature we jumped onto Descript.

I would love to see this product have an option to auto-detect and then remove breathing noises. If I had this option along with the already awesome filler word removal it would save hours of video editing that I'm doing for all of my E-Learning videos.

Audiobooks take a long time to edit out breaths. Yes we can use gate tools but they are not accurate or fit for purpose for high profile box office audiobooks. These need done manually in order for a correct result. Some audiobooks are 18 hours long. It would be helpful if descript could detect breaths as it already does with ums and ahs, so that we can review each breath 1 by 1 and remove them, This would save a significant amount of time to audio engineers.

I am thinking these unknown sounds may be interesting to add to the search tool.
For example, if you have used Sleep Cycle to record your breathing while sleeping, it will mark points where it "hears" electrical sounds, motor sounds, snoring, talking, etc.
I would like to see Descript let me search for things like:
silence
shuffling papers
coughing
doors slamming
children crying
I'm sure Google has tools for this since they offer meet.google.com with a filter. Perhaps it's just another AI process that can be run and create a timeline of these events.
I would like to also do the same with video to capture situations like:
desktop images showing
screen switching
animals
people (by name if possible like facebook)
etc.
And create a timeline for those events as well in each video with the ability to tag other things in the sequence as interesting and have it find future instances of those (audio/video/text)....
Just wait until we start getting those taste-enabled TVs, I'll be asking for the taste search as well... smell anybody?

Seconded. Getting rid of breathing/mouth noises at the beginning of sentences would be great.
