When I recorded an audio interview with a remote speaker in “Descript Classic”, I could always see the transcript gradually building up in real time (including the respective speaker labels) as the interview progressed. It was a great feature that re-assured me that the software was actually capturing both my own microphone voice as well as the remote speaker’s audio.

“Descript Classic” will be retired as of October 1, of course.

In the “New Descript” it is no longer possible to observe that gradual transcript build-up on screen. It is quite a nail-biting experience because I cannot be sure if my remote guest’s voice has been captured until AFTER I turn off the recording, following which the transcription will eventually appear. Or not.

I really, really would love to see that real-time transcript build-up feature be re-introduced in “New Descript”.
