Any updates on this?
This has been a deal breaker for us.
Each of our podcast episode needs the guest's review & approval.
It's unreasonable for them to need to sign up to just make a comment

This is the only reason that holds us back to use Descript as a professional tool. We cannot ask our clients to sign up accounts, they need to be able to comment on text/the video without signing up. (We now use FRAME.IO) If a developer reads this post, please give this feature high priority. The professional world will be very thankful. Descript can become a very powerful tool for professional content creators. Cheers

This is a no-brainer. Really feeling the frustration of this myself with ym clients too. It's making it impossible to use Descript with many of my clients.

Watch this video to see how it is solved in frame.io: https://support.frame.io/en/articles/1161479-review-links-explained-for-clients

Agreed. The comments system needs an anonymous post option, even for members. People may want to make a comment without identifying themselves.
Also, the comments need a way to protect the email identity of the person posting.
Currently the +email feature shows all emails and people may want to opt out of being part of that list.
Furthermore, the administrator may want to control comment visibility. So we may want a way to only sent comments to the board owner and an option to make the comment we are sending anonymous.

Are basic members not able to delete comments after they post them? That's a shame. What if they paste something confidential by accident or to the wrong transcript? Yikes.

When a user accepts an invitation to join a drive, they should be able to pick the name they wish to use and then maintain that name from the View Members screen where they can see the members that are part of the drive. That list of members should be restricted for Anonymous users also to protect privacy.

The owner should be able to see the names and emails on the comments just like they can see the names and emails on the View Members page. Would be good to have some filters here also to administer a large group while protecting the identities from being visible by the non-owners of the drive.

Would be so useful!
I have actually started using Descript instead of FCPX for some videos aimed for teaching where I work more closely with researchers. They love being able to review the video with the transcription on and if they could leave comments directly without signing up, it would great.
