Currently the only workaround is to change the videos to be imported to SDR as seen here: https://help.descript.com/hc/en-us/articles/10486763371021-Imported-iPhone-video-appears-washed-out
It would be nice to see full support for these types of files.

Please support HDR video files natively into the app. It is an extreme workaround to have convert larger 4K files to SDR just to edit clips, and therefore also losing quality of the original source file.
