It is common for many professional quicktime files to carry more than two tracks of audio. It's impossible to use these files in Descript as I can't even dictate which audio tracks to import.

Hi! I work with video sources which contain multiple audio tracks. For instance, Nvidia's Shadowplay desktop capture software has the option to record two audio tracks - one of your desktop audio, and one of your mic (great for interviews, commentary videos, etc!)

Unfortunately, Descript doesn't support these files currently - it just arbitrarily chooses the first audio track and throws out the rest of the audio, which is a bummer.

The current workaround is to take the existing video file and export it multiple times with individual tracks muted, or to mix all the audio tracks into a single audio track and export it that way - neither of which are great options.

As Descript is a piece of multitrack audio editing software, it would be great if supported multitrack audio contained in videos! It feels silly to have to manually disassemble a video with two perfectly-synced, identical-length audio tracks, just to reassemble it again in Descript in order to get it transcribed.

I'm recording interviews with OBS where my voice and interviewees are different channels of the video. Descript doesn't 'see' the second channel. It would be nice to be able to pull it into the project without digesting it through something like Premier Pro first

Hi all, I am looking for the option to record both from a camera and multitrack (currently you can record multitrack audio in the record section, or screen record with a single source). would love to see these features merge.

My camera (Sony A7SIII) records audio in 2-4 different tracks based on the recorder that I'm using with it (very common setup), and even with a basic 2-channel setup, I can't import this audio unfortunately. I have to take it to another program, import it, export it with a single stream, and then re-import it -- which is very annoying.
