I don't care about your updates, stop interrupting my task
Antoni Bernard
Once again. I am REALLY annoyed with your constant notifications distracting me while I'm trying to analyze videos letting me know about yet another update. It's great that you are constantly updating the product. None of your daily updates are important enough to me that I'm willing to stop my task, restart Descript, and then continue. That's terrible UX. Find a less intrusive way to inform me that there's an update. There are plenty of other patterns out there. Use one.

This is really frustrating to me as well. I would like the option to ignore it and not be reminded again until the next time I open it.

It would be better if the system just put an exclamation mark or a dot on the profile icon rather than interrupt with a floating message. Chrome handles updates in the background automatically and I feel that's a better idea.
However, I wouldn't mind if there was a command line style log window. Just a window to hot key into to see the latest changes to the system (last updates made, what they do, etc.) Pure text.
Eventually perhaps, the window can have some interactivity for running scripts, doing searches, listing files, tagging files, exporting transcript material, etc. All the stuff where everybody technical wants to live rather than messing around with a graphical user interface.

A floating message that pops back up 5 minutes after you close it too! No update is that urgent, and this seems to be designed to be so annoying users drop everything to update.
