Hebrew and RTL languages support
Random Encounters Podcast
Dear Descript Team,
As a user who needs Hebrew support in your excellent text-based editing software, I urge you to add right-to-left (RTL) capabilities.
Hebrew (and other RTL languages like Arabic) requires proper text alignment for transcription and captions, which isn't currently supported.
This isn't just a niche request—it's a massive opportunity: ~660 million native RTL speakers worldwide, including 9 million Hebrew speakers in Israel.
~1 billion total RTL speakers, with 400-600 million potentially monolingual and reliant on RTL tools to make content.
This represents about 13% of the global population and includes major economic hubs like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.
Podcast/audio markets in Israel ($364M in 2025 - https://www.statista.com/outlook/amo/media/music-radio-podcasts/israel) and the Arab world (https://www.podcastinc.io/post/podcast-industry-in-the-arab-world) are booming, with potential for $2-5M+ in new ARR for Descript via 10,000-20,000 subscribers.
Adding RTL could boost your ~$30M revenue (according to google) by ~10%+ while serving underserved creators.
I'd love to discuss further or become a beta tester!
Best of luck, David

Language Addition

I actually think thay since Descript is able to understand arabic when you give it an arabic video but it cannot generate the right direction for arabic language (right to left) then this should be added to it and i guess it won't be a huge thing to be added.. especially that the arabs are a huge population and it is good to attract them to your app (they mostly use capcut unfortunately).
second, I guess adding the ability to have multiple captions for the same video is good, for example arabic with english translation and both to be captions is a great add that alot of other platforms do not have. thanks.

I started to use the Descript in the paid plan, and stopped because there is no Hebrew.
You have a really good product, and I want to share it with my clients as well, but although you have languages like Greek, there is no support for Hebrew.
