Would like to be able to rotate text box too!

Yes and also ability to rotate text and images placed on the timeline.

Any updates on this one? It would be such a huge quality of life improvement.
All my videos are recorded as if the camera were right-side up. This means that in order to do a profile video for social I have to edit it in Premiere to rotate it before bringing it into Descript. Would love to get rid of this very tedious step.

Would something like this help? If it's all videos, you can probably use a tool like Hazel to handle every video you drop into a folder by running that script.
What would be cool is if Descript offered some scripting abilities so we could simply drop the video into a folder and have Hazel upload it to Descript, create the project with the video title and start the transcription automatically.

There are lots of people that want to be able to rotate any object placed in the video. Not just the clip, but also the text, the rectangles, the lines. And to even offer a mirror feature for all of these. Mirroring is very helpful.
What I would like to see is a vertical timeline to manage when the clip objects appear. I'd like to manage it more by paragraph rather than with the horizontal timeline at the bottom of the screen. I like the horizontal for text and audio, but for clips, I would prefer a vertical slider that lets me snap to each paragraph as I extend the visibility of a clip to text. Then I can fine tune it in in the horizontal. Otherwise, I think I need to have a start and end handle that show inside the text to anchor the clips.
So either:
1) present handles for start and end of each object
2) present an additional vertical bar that makes extending clips easier.
Is there a separate feature request for this perhaps?

I'd like to be able to tag certain objects to not be part of the export - only for editing/assigning tasks to other editors for certain ranges of material or calling attention to something that is being presented but never going into the final export. Sort of like a hidden tagging mechanism in the video.

Glad to hear this one is planned - I had a great out of the box experience with Descript other than this one issue, which required me to drop back into the Windows Photos app, re-encode my video, and spend more transcription time to get the video re-imported correctly. Looking forward to seeing this feature ASAP!

This would save me hours, so many videos are mobile first now...
