Feature Requests

Right now, I have to add double spaces (i.e., "Hello world, my name is Descript.) between words to get the "effect", but with the amount of videos I'm making, it gets cumbersome.

Sometimes when I hit return (on mac) the surrounding text will turn blue and a five second blank scene will be inserted. I have no idea what the use case is for this or how to do it on purpose but I'd sure like to stop doing it on accident. Please debug or remove this 'feature'.

I'm not sure why, but there used to be small dots in the text editor to show gaps in time. This has been removed. Why? This is such a helpful feature and removing it makes Descript harder to use. In general every version of Descript has gotten less user friendly, not more.

Please add the ability to insert music multiple times and the ability to fade out during intro, which we can and to also fade in during outro.

I work for a medical journal, and there is a lot of alphabet soup and technical phrases that are difficult for the AI to parse without context. For example, "A1C" is throughout a transcript as "a OneC" or "A1 sea" or "A-1C" so it's impossible to get every mistranslation with find/replace. Flagging that a transcript is "medical" could help contextualize the AI to get the correct term more frequently?

Update broke my workflow. Previously, silent portions of the video were transcribed ".........." which made editing and converting to GIFs a breeze. Since updating, silent portions of the video don't get transcribed, so I'm unable to edit/alter speeds/clip easily any more.

this was a must have feature for me, being able to search for word gaps and cut them down to .25 seconds or .10 but in the latest version it won't allow a decimal to be placed.

Please allow name/link or just link to be in Caption that can be customly put in over previous link in video that may no longer be available.

Right now when I use captions for short clips / reels in Descript, the captions don't synchronise with the moments that the words are actually spoken. Sometimes the captions are a whole sentence ahead or behind. Might be because I have Dutch transcriptions, and that this is better organised for English content. However, the core lies in the moment the transcripted words actually appear. Since the transcribing goes really well, like really transcribing the words that are actually spoken. But timing wise, it's not smooth. I'm also not able to manually adjust the moment the captions appear. So suggested feature: Synchronised captions Optional: Manually adjusting the position of the captioned words, when they appear exactly.
