I don't understand why you'd go against the grain of what every audio editing software has done for all of eternity in this new update. The new waveforms are visually confusing and make it much harder to see where there's an actual break in audio, causing edits to take a lot longer.

In addition, now I have to expand the Timeline to be much larger and take up more of the screen in order to see the same amount of useful data.
