Timeline For BIg Sur Support?

Can we please get a timeline for Descript's Big Sur compatibility release? I've been very impressed with Descript so far and want to standardize on it for podcast production going forward. However, I've been holding off on upgrading to Big Sur solely due to Descript's incompatibility. I realize you guys are likely working on it right now, but an ETA would be helpful towards setting expectations. Right now I feel a bit like we've been abandoned, especially when looking at your roadmap and noting there is no mention of Big Sur in the "in-progress" column. Please advise.

Fantastic work and just before the holidays too. I appreciate the workaround email I received automatically earlier, that was a nice touch. Descript rocks! 🎸

It's funny but they are obviously working on it. I mean Big Sur compatibility is a thing.. all over the place. I wanted to comment because I think the hyperbole is so funny! Totally hilarious that people go full Karen over this! "This is leading to the demise of modern civilization", "My car won't start and my dog died because Descript isn't Big Sur compatible yet!" really?! Ugh, it's all I can do to not reply to all the messages that are claiming this is causing the apocalypse.
Getting by with Audacity is a pain in the ass but to anyone who is completely dependent on Descript to do anything, you may want to reconsider your workflow.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

getphily: Agreed, Big Sur went public on November 12. Less than 10 days later their were several freak-outs posted here... Who updates there Mac OS immediately without checking compatibility? This is an Apple issue not a Descript issue. And an issue that's been happening with every Mac OS release as long as I can remember.
If you want the latest OS at all times and backwards compatibility with all of your apps, Mac OS is not the OS for you!

Alright, Big Sur support shipped! Sorry this took so long, it was harder than it seems for technical reasons that are probably too boring to elaborate upon. Anyway, this is the first time we've been behind on an OS release like this and we certainly don't intend to make it a habit.

We can no longer edit our podcast. Will need to replace Descript in our workflow soon.

Chris Ridgeway: We have beaten them up over it. They are working on it.

Big Sur is currently supported in the beta - if you can, wait a few more days and we should have it in the public release. Here is the beta link if you must! https://web.descript.com/download?build=beta&platform=mac

Andrew Mason: TY my man! I did use the beta and its a one way trip because I'm on the 6.2 database now. I'm hoping that when the public release is out I can migrate back to the public version. I can't speak for Maryke Snyman , Propane but I appreciate your hard work 😉😀

Any update on this guys?

Apple's refusal to include backwards compatibility is the real issue here...

It really doesn’t make sense to pay for Descript when it’s not compatible with your OS. Period.
